The Westphal Film & Video program was one of 25 teams selected to participate in the first ever Philly DoGooder Hackathon, the largest skilled volunteers event in the city’s history. Production teams were randomly assigned to local non-profit organizations and, based upon the organization’s need and requests, challenged to create a video in just ten days with an honest and compelling message that activates people around a cause. The Drexel team was made up of students and faculty who worked together to produce a 2-minute video for The Children’s Scholarship Foundation Philadelphia. The video was shot on location at St. Malachy’s school and featured a cast of five local actors.
The Drexel team included; Directed by Karin Kelly, Written by Matthew Kaufhold, Stephanie Ogrodnik, Alexander Igidbashian, Director of Photography Dave Schwartz, Composer, Sound Designer & Music Supervisor John Avarese, Editor Jocelyn Tarquini, Assistant Director Findlay Zotter, Casting Lise Raven, Assistant Camera Ted DeSanti, Gaffer Bill McNulty Assistant Editor, Data Wrangler & Color Correction Chip Murphy, and Sound Recordist Richard Mach.
